What are 2XL8’s areas of specialisation?

2XL8 is a comprehensive international marketing and multilingual marketing and localisation service provider.   We have the technology, expertise and infrastructure necessary to carry out all of your international, language-based projects in to over 40 different languages.

2.   How do you qualify your linguists?

2XL8’s translators are selected based on their experience and special areas of expertise.

We produce our translations using native-speaking translators, who only translate into

their native language.  It is our firm belief that only a native speaker has the requisite

linguistic skills to effectively communicate the clients’ message in the local cultural

context, therefore enabling us to provide our clients with the highest linguistic quality,

level of cultural and technical accuracy.

3. How will you manage my projects?

We customise a quality procedure according to each project depending upon its complexity and size.  Procedures can vary from a simple document TEP (translation, editing and proofreading) project to a turnkey software localisation project.

2XL8 provides a fully trained, highly qualified, full-time member of the project management team to each client.  Through consistency in our client management teams, we develop a deeper understanding of our clients; organisations and markets, as well as specific project requirements.  The subsequent benefits include increased quality, the development of time and cost efficiencies and streamlined communications.

No one is as important to the success of your international product release as your project manager.  Your project manager is your central contact for all project needs.  In addition to helping you scope your project needs, your project manager is also responsible for schedule development, building communication strategies, translation/localisation team selection, managing resources, chairing project kick-off and completion meetings, tracking project progress and costs, status reporting and managing revisions to work in progress

In short, our project manager is ultimately responsible and accountable for the final quality and timely delivery of your translated products, ensuring that you achieve your quality, budgets and scheduling requirements.

Our standard is to always have team members’ work directly in the document processing environments used by our client.  As a result, we actively support all the common text processing environments.

4. Will I receive status reports on my projects?

Yes, our clients are constantly kept informed about the progress of their projects, through production conference calls and status reports to client. The types of reports available include Weekly status reports prepared by the Project Manager (or according to frequency agreed upon with client).

5. Who will be my primary contact during the project?

The Project Manager will be the primary contact during the course of the project.

6. Do you have the necessary hard and software to efficiently handle my work?

7. Have you managed projects like mine before?

Translation service is the core of 2XL8’s business.

Therefore, we are well-experienced to handle software localisation and documentation translation projects like yours.

8. How do you assure quality?

All translations are reviewed by the project linguistic leader.  If the quality doesn't pass

specific criteria the material will be returned to the translator for re-work or if time does

not permit it will be re-edited internally and cost recovery obtained from the translator.

Anything below is unacceptable, corrective action results in a review of full time staff

that might include a training process, cost penalisation or requirement to re-edit work

from freelancers.

Client-specific technology list and/or terminology glossaries can be developed and maintained for all projects.

Should any problem or change occur during the course of the project, the Project

Manager promptly notifies the other party and both parties agree on the best medium of

discussion, be it via conference call or face-to-face meeting, in order to resolve the

issue.  Once a plan of action has been agreed upon, it is confirmed in writing and the

situation is monitored to make sure that the problem has been corrected and that the

recommended preventive measures have been followed.

To ensure that problems are effectively addressed, regular production meetings will be

held to discuss each mandate in progress. Production problems raised and discussed will

be noted by management to ensure subsequent monitoring.

11. What is your record for delivering on time?

We analyse several factors for each project delivered, timeliness of the delivery being

one of them.  Based on the outcome of project post-mortems done, we would state

that we received an “excellent” customer satisfaction rating on the question of

timeliness.

12. How accurate are your estimates?

Upon reception of actual materials to localise, our Project Managers along with the

software engineers confirm actual volumes and reiterates scope
